International Iran Conference, 28-29 Nov. 2009, Berlin
Time to act
The Mideast Freedom Forum Berlin announces an international Iran conference which will take place on November 28 (Saturday evening) and 29 in Berlin.
A distinguished group of international experts, politicians and activists will discuss the following topics:
- The death of the Islamic Republic? Iran after the post-election uprisings
- From theocracy to military dictatorship? The political and economical power of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards
- Where is our vote? How to effectively support the freedom movement and further human rights and secular democracy in Iran
- Engagement as appeasement? Western Iran-strategies
- Business as usual? The economical and political German-Iranian relations
- The Islamic Republic as a strategic partner? The strategies of German Iran experts
- Unacceptable or unstoppable? The Iranian nuclear program
- How to hit the regime and not the population? The effectiveness of political and economical sanctions against the Iranian regime
- Part of the problem or the solution? The role of Russia, China and the United Nations
- How much time is left? The Israeli perspective on the Iranian threat
This conference is a follow up event to the May 2008 conference “Business as usual? The Iranian regime, the holy war against Israel and West and the German reaction”.

Conference languages: The conference will be held in German and English. There will be a simultaneous interpretation of all the lectures and discussions, cordless headphones will be available.
